ABOUT THE MOVEMENT

The Skycha VI model by CIVOUX is equipped with a quartz movement. Its operation is relatively simple: a thin disc of quartz is set into vibration by the electrical impulse of a battery. It is the small impulse that allows the hands to move smoothly.

The advantages of quartz watches

  • The precision: Unbeatable! Quartz watches have an accuracy of a few seconds per month. This is also the main reason quartz watches are very attractive in today's market.
  • Resistance: Quartz timepieces are less fragile than mechanical timepieces which consist of many more parts. Quartz movements are more resistant to drop and impact damage, as well as shock and vibration
  • Price: Quartz watches are cheaper than mechanical watches.
  • Thickness: Quartz timepieces have the advantage of being thinner than most mechanical watches.

Time setting

  1. Remove all protective layers from the watch if you have not opted for the free service of CIVOUX staff to remove the desired number of links on the watch. Otherwise, these will have been removed beforehand by the employees of CIVOUX.
  2. Pull the crown up to the first notch to set the time. You will notice that the hour wheel moves with you. Be sure you have screwed the crown back against the case to avoid any water damage after you are done.

Maintenance

  • Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.
  • Never touch the mechanism with your bare hand.
  • Exposure to very strong electrostatic charge can damage the mechanism.
  • Should moisture appear in the watch, have it checked immediately by CIVOUX. Maintenance and/or repair costs will be charged.
  • Do not wear the watch too tight. You should be able to put your finger between the bracelet and your wrist.
  • Use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth moistened with a solution of water and a mild neutral detergent to clean the watch and bracelet. Never use corrosive substances and agents such as gasoline, thinner, spray cleaner, etc.
  • Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
  • Although the watch is designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and do not drop the watch.
  • Avoid putting the watch in direct contact with hair liquids, colognes, sunscreen creams and other toiletries. Should the watch come into contact with these substances, remove it immediately with a dry, soft cloth.
  • Store your watch in a dry place when not in use.
  • Keep this manual and documentation provided with the watch in a safe place for future reference.

Water resistance (ATM)

Our watches are water resistant in the following respects:

  • While washing hands under the faucet.
  • Rainy weather
  • Moisture from sweat.
  • While showering (not recommended).
